RussellRandy Moss’ immortal statement, “…straight cash homey” is apparently the mantra of the Raiders #1 overall pick Jamarcus Russell. We are now in the league record 36th day of his holdout, and for what?? I can’t help but feel like he’s wrecking his furure in the league. Reportedly, the Raider’s initial offer back in April was already more money than the deals signed last year by the #2 pick, Reggie Bush, and the #1 pick, Mario Williams, respectively. Each of whom received $25-$27 million in guaranteed money, and let’s be honest, that’s all the players really care about, because that’s the only money they know they are going to get. The $30-$32 million offered by the Raiders should be enough to get Russell in to camp. Does anyone in the world, other than he and his agent, think that he will have more of an impact on the Raiders than Reggie Bush had on the Saints last year?? I know I don’t!!

Raiders…So that only leaves me to conclude that it’s totally an ego thing. Russell is, reportedly, asking for $35 million in guaranteed money and is willing to sit out the season. If he does that, it’s my opinion that he won’t be the #1 overall pick in next year’s draft and he will be a year older and he will be a year fatter, …and a year lazier and in the end a lot less rich.

…So Jamarcus, sign the contract you knucklehead!! It’s Only Money!!!
