New England Patriots I’ve never voiced, or more to the point, blogged much about New England Patriot’s head coach Bill Belichick. I’ve always gone with the- he’s just a wacko, work-a-holic, guy that has absolutely nothing else in his life kinda coach, but given what his coaching staff is accused of doing during the Jets game on Sunday, I’m convinced that he is a total idiot that happens to be a great football coach. I say he’s a great football coach, because he is still winning and his former offensive and defensive “gurus” suck at their respective jobs.

Bill Belichick New England Patriots The issue with Belichick’s staff video taping the Jets sideline for the purposes of stealing signs is one of the lowest, most underhanded, and despicable things a team can do. Like the Patriots need more of an advantage over their opponents?? Are You Kidding Me?? How much paranoia is one man allowed to have before he is compared to some of the great wackos in history??

Roger Goodell NFL Commissioner

It has now been reported that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has determined that the Patriots had, in fact, violated the rules governing this type of activity. Personally, I can’t wait to hear Belichick’s explanation. He has been caught “red handed” …and if he says that he had no knowledge of what was going on, I may actually burst into flames on the spot!! He would then be expecting us to believe that he isn’t the ego-maniacal, control freak that he, so obviously, is!! Case in point, …can anyone out there tell us the nature of any injury that any Patriot player has had in the last few years, or the last time a member of Belichick’s coaching staff uttered a word to anyone about anything?? I didn’t think so.

Here we go,…Patriot fans, start defending the “All Knowing” Mr. Hoodie!!!

Wasn’t there something like this last year involving Miami?
If the Pats have done something like this in the past, then Mangini probably knew what to look for. Either way teams have been spying on other teams since dirt was discovered.

Are you as fed up as I am listening to all the hot air bags shouting about how bad a war criminal Bill Belichick is; that he should be suspended, lose his Superbowl rings and the right to vote?

Did you know that it is legal to tape the offensive and defensive signals at NFL games as long as you do it in a way that is discrete and a coach isn’t sitting next to you? Here is the language of the NFL rule:

“Video taping of any type, including but not limited to taping of an opponent’s offensive or defensive signals, is prohibited on the sidelines, in the coaches’ booth, in the locker room, or at any other locations accessible to club staff members during the game.”

So video taping is not illegal, just doing it from specific locations. It is sort of like jay-walking. You can legally cross at the corners but not from the sidelines. What about video taping from a Corporate booth?

I was thinking about this tempest in a teapot and wondered, would it be possible for fans to legally video tape signals and put them on Youtube. I think that would show how ridiculous this rule really is. Wouldn’t the NFL and all the loudmouths look silly if all the signals were available to everyone.
