Okay, I was 11-5 with my picks this week. Are you kidding me?? Still not where someone of my very obvious talents should be, but I’ll take it none the less.
So what do Browns fans do now?? Are they still going to scream for Brady Quinn to play?? Derek Anderson may have just needed the QB situation to be clarified in order to feel comfortable. I get that the Bengal’s defense isn’t all that great, but neither is the Brown’s offense, but he sure made ‘em look great. If he simply does his job at a high level from here on out, Brady Quinn is going to sit for quite some time.

The Houston Texans may actually be for real. I can’t believe I just said that. I have been giving my friends in Houston crap for a long time about the Texans, but if this play continues they are going to be unbearable. Beating the Panthers in Houston would have been one thing, but going to Charlotte to do it was impressive and it could be a sign that the franchise is growing up. A big test will be this week when the defending Super Bowl Champion Colts come to town. Check back for my picks later in the week, it’s not a lock that I go with Indy in this one.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The Saints seem scared to play real football. They have an arsenal of weapons like few others, yet they still seem content to keep them in the warehouse. …And man, do they still have DB issues. Go figure!!!
My pick of the 49ers winning the NFC West isn’t looking so stupid now HUH??? I realize it’s only the second week of the season, but Mike Nolan really seems to have a handle on coaching those young players. They have as much young talent on the field as anyone and I get the feeling they will be able to hold it together. There will be adversity this season, but there is something about the make up of that group that impresses me.
I’m sorry I didn’t include the Monday night game in my picks last week. I don’t know what happened, but I do know that there was no way it was my fault!!! Somehow, my computer must not have …well nevermind. I did have the Eagles beating the ‘Skins at home, so I guess I have to count that as a “wrong” for me. …Oh, it kills me to say that!!
Anyway, come back tomorrow for another thrilling chapter in the saga we all call the NFL.

2No No my friend. Just giving credit where credit is due. If they would let me coach the Saints, I’d sort all of this out. Ha-Ha!

3I hear you “Coach”
Don’t forget Peyton was the offensive coach for the New York Football Giants back in 2000 and Jim Fassell had taken over the play calling.
Does Peyton have what it takes to get the Saints Marching again???

4I want to think he does, but what he’s doing didn’t work against the Bears in the NFC title game, it didn’t work against the Colts on opening night, and it didn’t work against the Bucs Sunday!!! I think he’s moving toward getting rid of Deuce in the next year or so and going to this dink and dunk offense full time. In all fairness the O-line has been beat up and they haven’t played well anyway. Brees ain’t gonna avoid the rush too much and if he continues to be pushed the Saints will continue to lose.
