Week 7 in Review

I owe an apology to all you Texans and Titans fans. I picked the game and for whatever reason I left it off the post. I’m telling you, …this “getting older” thing sucks!!! Oh well, I had the Titans winning it in a close one. I thought Vince Young was going to play at the time I did my picks. I would never have picked them knowing that he wasn’t going to set foot on the field. I guess I lucked out on that one.

Anyway, I was 10-4 in week 7 and one of the losses was the Bills over the Ravens. C’mon, I can count that one as a win right?? Nobody had that one, I mean nobody. Not even the Kool-Aid drinking Bills fans had that one. Oh well, I’ll take 10-4.

Some randon thoughts from this past week and around the NFL:

The NFL announced a change in the way the first round of the NFL Draft will be conducted. Teams will now have only ten minutes between picks instead of the fifteen they’ve enjoyed for a number of years. …Thank Goodness!! There is just so much of that bunch at ESPN a human should have to endure.

OK, I know I’m about to freak some of you out, but here goes. The Indianaplois Colts are not on the same level as the New England Patriots and it’s not even close. I believe there are three tiers in the league right now and the Pats are very obviously at the top. The Colts are a couple of notches below them and then there is everyone else. …There, I said it. I’m going to make my pick now for the Nov. 4 game between the Pats and Colts in Indy. The Patriots will make a statement and beat the Colts by 20 in the RCA Dome. The Colt’s defense won’t give Tom Brady and Co. much trouble and that will be the difference.

The Falcons released their starting defensive tackle Grady Jackson. …It’s the middle of the season right?? I’m not wrong about that am I?? Are You Kidding Me?? Well, I guess that’s what happens when you sue your employer in the offseason. Nice going Grady!!

I swear, I’m losing sleep at night over the fact that the Chiefs are 4-3. Will someone please help me with this?? Herm Edwards stands there in his press conferences like he expected them to be above .500 at this point in the season. OMG, he is such an idiot!!

 

 

Here’s another prediction for you, Brian Billick’s days in Baltimore are numbered. When Ray Lewis starts talking bad about the coaching staff in public, it’s over. Other than the Saints, the Ravens are the biggest disappointment in the NFL so far this season. It will be interesting to see if he can keep his job through the end of the year if they keeping playing as poorly as they are.
