Here we go with the rest of the picks for week 8.
Buffalo at The New York Jets
The re-surgent Bills travel down to the Meadowlands to take on the Jets. Okay, re-surgent may be strong, but the Bills have won two games which gives them as many wins as the Bengals, Eagles, Vikings, 49ers, and Saints. Who would have thought that a month ago?? Even though the Bills aren’t very good, they are not as big “a mess” as the Jets are. Ask any Jets fan. I think the Bills go into New Jersey and beat the Jets and really send that franchise into a “tizzy”. It will be funny to see!!
Houston at San Diego (or wherever)
I have no idea how the wildfires will effect the Charger’s ability to focus on football, but however it turns out, I think they are playing well enough now to beat the Texans anywhere. For all we know the Chargers will kick twelve field goals to win it.
Jacksonville at Tampa Bay
The Jaguars, fresh off their beat down at the hands of the Colts, head across the state to meet the Buccaneers. The Bucs aren’t playing too badly, but can’t seem to get any traction for a winning streak. The Jags are going with their backup quarterback due to the injury to David Garrard. I’m going with the Buccaneers at home in this one, though the Jags will be in the game late.
New Orleans at San Francisco
The Saints have won their last two games by the skin of their teeth. They are still not right on either side of the ball. The 49ers appear to be a mess, but Alex Smith will be back at QB this week. I don’t know how much it will matter as the Saints play better on the road than they do in the Dome. I think the Saints will eek this one out much like they did last week against the Falcons.
Washington at New England
Make no mistake, I think the Patriots will win this game, but the spread this morning was 16 1/2. Holy Cow, that’s a huge number and further indication that Vegas thinks they are going to win the Super Bowl in a walk. The Redskins defense is stronger than most of the teams the Pats have faced this year and I don’t think they are going to hang 40 on the men from D.C.
Green Bay at Denver
In the Monday nighter, Brett Favre and the Packers go up to Denver to take on the Broncos. Favre loves the Monday night spotlight and the Broncos still aren’t playing as well as everyone thought they would. I don’t think they will pull two in a row out of their hat. I’ll take the Packers in a close game, 24-20.
And there you go. Come back next week for some more from around the league. Have a great weekend everybody!!

1nicely done pointing out that SD might play somewhere else but are still considered the home team! What you think a guy like noodle wouldn’t notice? I did hear early report this morning that qualcomm will be available to play in. Not that it matters, I say 10 field goals and 1 LT touchdown.

2Yea, I hear now that the Chargers will be at home after all. Again, it won’t matter. Thanks for dropping by.

3How about them Texans. If it can be screwed up, they will do it. They had no chance going in and until they can prove they can play Oakland will run all over them.

4Yea, It’s weird. The Saints were terrible in the beginning and the Texans looked good. Now the Saints look better and the Texans are awful. I don’t know what to think. Kubiak has to be feeling some heat by now. Right??

5Kubiak is taking all the blame and he is saying all the right things. I don’t think there is any heat just yet, maybe next year if things don’t go well. In his defense, sucess won’t happen until they get the players salaries under control and they can spend money on a RB,OL and DB’s.
They should still be able to play fundamental football and come to the game prepared (which they can’t seem to do)
… treat it like dinner, come hungry!!

6Remember, in three weeks the resurgent Black and Gold will be there to treat the Texans like dinner!!
