Let’s take a look at the rest of the games this weekend.

San Francisco at Atlanta
The 49ers make their way east to play the terrible Falcons. The problem is, the 49ers are terrible too. I have no explanation for this, but I’m taking the home team in a stinker. Joey Harrington will play just good enough to pull this one out, 17-16.

Washington Redskins NFL FootballWashington at The New York Jets
The Redskins were abused by the Patriots last week and the Jets have been abused by everyone. The ’skins will atone for their embarrassment and kill the Jets in the Meadowlands. The Jets aren’t that different a team from the one that went 10-6 last year, but they stink right now.

Seattle at Cleveland
The Seahawks head to the Dog Pound to take on the Browns. I’m not sold on the Browns yet and I’ve never been sold on the ‘hawks. I think I’m going to regret this, but I’m taking the Browns at home. Believe me, they’re not going to win this big, but they will win.

Houston at Oakland
The Texans at the Raiders. …Hmmm, …Uhhh, …How do I know?? Sage Rosenwhatever will start for the Texans and JaMarcus Russell won’t start for the Raiders. Advantage Raiders!! The Black and Silver will win this 3-2.

New England Patriots Tom Brady NFL FootballNew England at Indianapolis
There is nothing I can say about this game that all the talking heads haven’t already said. Except maybe this. The Patriots will beat the Colts by 20. I’ve said this for a week now. Indy’s defense isn’t that much better than some of the teams that the Pats have already demolished. I don’t think Tom Brady even sees the other colored jerseys. The only thing that keeps this game respectable is if Peyton Manning has a career type game and everything else falls the Colt’s way. It’s possible, but not likely.

Dallas at Philadelphia
The Sunday night game has the Cowboys going up to face the Eagles. Conventional wisdom says the Eagles are done and I may have even said it myself. However, in the NFC anything seems possible. The Eagles started poorly last year, as well, before making a run to the playoffs. I’m not suggesting that they are going to do that again, but I am going to pick them to win this game at home. Tony Romo is rich and the Eagles will resent it!! I don’t know how those two things are related, but it sounded good. The Eagles by 4.

Pittsburgh Steelers NFL FootballBaltimore at Pittsburgh
Monday Night Football “pitts” the Ravens against the Steelers. “Pitts”, …Pittsburgh, …get it?? Oh man, I’m I funny?? Is this thing on?? Oh well. The Ravens aren’t as good as I thought they would be and the Steelers are better than I thought they would be. I think that means I’m taking the Steelers at home in a slugfest.

Well, there you have it. Another fine installment of pigskin prognostication. I’ll blog at you again later.
