Week 9 Recap

Well, I was 10-4 in week 9. Still not good enough, so I’ll keep trying.

Ok, I was slightly wrong about the Pats- Colts margin of victory. I don’t know though, 4 points, …20 points, …it’s almost the same. Anyway, the right team won, but I think some hope was restored to the rest of the league. We learned a couple of things from this game. When the chips were down, the Pats didn’t handle it very well and the Colts proved their defense is great. In the end, the Colts are closer to the level of the Patriots than I thought.

The Saints are, indeed, for real. I said the Jags would lose this game because of their quarterback play, not because their defense was weak. Their defense is not weak and Drew Brees absolutely torched them. He has thrown for almost 800 yards in two weeks. I think that qualifies as being back to form.

I’m still not convinced the Browns are for real, however, Derek Anderson certainly appears to be and It’s beginning to smell like the Lions may be on the verge of making Jon Kitna seem like a clairvoyant. Also, you do have to admit, he and his wife’s halloween costumes were hysterical!!

And finally, …what the hell is with the Chargers?? Are they any good or not?? It seems as though Philip Rivers has gone backward and Norv Turner has struck again. Oh well, I guess they can look in the mirror and say, …Adrian Peterson is the MAN!!! Are You Kidding Me?? Wow, what a day for the Rook of the year!! I think he will break the rookie rushing record, but I don’t think he will break Eric Dickerson’s single season rushing record. It’s just my feeling, but of course the Vikes play the Broncos in week 17 and he could rush for 400 yards in that game alone. Let me know if I’m crazy.
